Trying with constant effort gets results

So yesterday, I think, I shared about how I have a hard time dealing with strong sexual urges. Well, I think I've figured out how to maintain the guiltless life for myself. Stay busy! As long as I'm not sitting doing something brainless (like binge watch Netflix), then I can keep my mind off of sex. Another way to help myself, I've learned, is meditating. I know it sounds weird but it actually helps. I just sit in a quiet place, cross my legs (if I can), sit up straight, close my eyes and take deep breaths. I found that counting my breaths (in 1, out 2, in 3, etc.) up to ten and then starting over keeps me relaxed but focussed at the same time. I have a big issue with ADHD (undiagnosed due to my evening activities aka cannabis user), but after I've meditated for 10-15 minutes I feel a lot better. More concentrated and focussed on what I TRUELY want. I'm starting to notice that saying no to things that I would usually say yes to has been a lot easier as well. Like when being offered a cig, it's easy for me to turn it down. It's weird. Knowing that I can easily say "no" instead of just giving into my usual habits has been giving me a weird sense of accomplishment. It's really weird, but not pleasing myself has become more pleasing than the original act itself.

But lets be real. I'm usually a creature of change. As in, tomorrow I'll probably change my mind and do somehthing else. idk. I guess we'll see where this all goes. I want to get back into this though. I feel like typing out my feelings and "thought" (lol) is actually helping me again.

Til next time...

Its human nature… so don’t fight the urges that keep emerging. Just, release the tension with someone that appreciates and shares the same appetite as you have. There’s nothing wrong with jerking off either if you don’t have a partner.
Abstinence can lead to all sorts of health issues; both psychologically & physically.

Shadow is right, especially men, you seem to mostly be driven by the need to mate/have sex. There is nothing wrong with masturbating – within reason and it is healthy for you.

Abstinence is a product of American’s fairly peculiar religious extremism, despite all kinds of warnings about blindness and the wrath of god no one has ever gone blind nor been set alight by having a discreet tug. Sexual repression though, that has whole libraries of problems dedicated to it and everyone masturbates, men, women – even animals so explain to me how it’s not natural?

You sound like you’re bored, get a hobby, an interest and a partner, you’ll feel better.
